The part-time Boys Gymnastics Coach is responsible for coaching both the recreational and competitive boys’ gymnastic programs in a professional and energetic manner. This position will require some travel and a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends. The position will average 16-20 hours/week.

The starting rate is $20/hour. The Nook provides the necessary USAG membership and trainings.

NOTE : Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:

1. PA State Police criminal history record,
2. PA Child Abuse Clearance, and
3. FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

You must possess the “Employment” versions of each clearance and not the “Volunteer” versions.

Essential Job Functions

• Create and implement practice plans
• Maintain an engaging, energetic and fun attitude
• Travel to competitions within the state of PA
• Maintain an engaging, energetic and fun atmosphere
• Provide instruction to youth of varying ages maintaining attention of all team members
• Greet and welcome parents and children in a warm, friendly, and timely manner
• Maintain and monitor a safe and healthy environment in which children can practice

Preferred Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Dependable transportation to and from work
• Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
• Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to demonstrate gymnastic skills in curriculum to students
• Interactive and hands-on, comfortable instructing children of various ages
• Established curriculum focusing on gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling
• Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
