Position Overview

Join our team as a Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

This position involves radioactive iodine and radioactive cats .

As a practice dedicated exclusively to the cure of feline hyperthyroidism through radioactive iodine (I-131) therapy, Radiocat in Westfield, Massachusetts occupies a truly singular niche in veterinary medicine. Radiocat was founded in 1995 by Dr. David S. Herring, a board-certified veterinary radiologist and the first veterinarian in the Baltimore region to offer this treatment. A single injection cures 98-99% of cases without anesthesia, long-term medication, or a severely restricted diet, and the Catonsville team has treated over 90,000 cats nationwide across the Radiocat network.

Key Responsibilities

• Care for feline patients.
• Maintain medical records by documenting patients' conditions, reactions, and changes.
• Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures in compliance with applicable legal regulations. 
• Phone contact/support with clients.
• Inventory and ordering of clinical supplies as needed.

Qualifications (Required)

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• High school diploma or GED
• Two or more years of experience with veterinary appointments performing above duties.
• Able to perform moderately physically demanding work that requires lifting, cleaning, and constant motion.
• Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, and unpleasant odors.
• Must be able to work the same schedule layout each month.

Schedule: 

• One treatment cycle per month
• Monday 8AM-2PM
• Tuesday 8AM-10AM, then 4PM- 6PM
• Wednesday 8AM-2PM
• Treatment dates are scheduled 6 months out
• All shift times are required. Times are flexible

Pay Range

$25—$25 USD
