Welder / Fabricator – Process Sanitary TIG Welding RS Automation is a growing turnkey fabrication and mechanical engineering automation firm with 25 years of process and automation expertise. We specialize in industrial and factory process piping and stainless sanitary tube welding, providing advanced technology and process solutions to our customers. Employment Information Full‑time position. Pay range: $20–30 per hour. Location: Local customer sites and company facilities. Job Description As a Welder/Fitter you will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques. You will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the proper welding process, fabricate from blueprints, maintain tolerances, inspect completed welds for structural soundness, and work independently or as part of a team to solve technical problems. Responsibilities Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Fabricate from blueprints and maintain tolerances at all times. Layout and fabricate welds from blueprints and engineering concepts. Weld all metals, ferrous and non‑ferrous. Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. Work independently or as part of a team and make sound decisions and solve technical problems. Plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment. Take over project lead if necessary. Perform a variety of tasks, maintain a clean work area, and prioritize work tasks. Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. Know ASME code (A plus). Build and fabricate process piping on system utility skids. Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license and transportation. 2–5 years of experience in precision cutting, fitting, and welding with layout and assembly welding. Ability to read blueprints, layout, fixture preparation, sanitary TIG stainless steel pipe welding, and plasma cutting. Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel. Proficient in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding; purging piping and tubing experience a plus. Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, welding safety, OSHA requirements, and all job‑related safety aspects. High proficiency in blueprint reading and layout techniques. Knowledge of gasses, filler metals, and machine adjustment, troubleshooting, and operation. Preferred knowledge of Press Brake and Shear, and local field installation experience.
