Job Title: Certified Nurse Midwife/Women's Health ProviderReports To: Director of Advanced Practice – Adult and Family MedicineJob Summary: The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) / Women's Health Provider provides and manages a high standard of comprehensive women's healthcare services across the lifespan. This position focuses on preventive gynecologic care, reproductive health, family planning, contraceptive management, health promotion, and office-based gynecologic procedures. The CNM collaborates with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and community partners to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care while promoting wellness, disease prevention, and positive health outcomes. This is a per diem position with an anticipated schedule of approximately 8 hours per week, subject to patient volume, organizational needs, and provider availability. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnostic evaluations of laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures within scope of practiceProvides preventive and well-woman care, including annual examinations, cervical cancer screenings, breast health assessments, menopausal care, and health promotion counselingProvides contraceptive counseling and management, helping patients select and utilize appropriate family planning methodsPerforms birth control procedures within scope of practice, including insertion and removal of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) such as intrauterine devices (IUDs) and contraceptive implantsPerforms colposcopies and endometrial biopsies in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational policiesDiagnoses and manages common gynecologic conditions and reproductive health concerns within scope of practicePrescribes pharmaceuticals, contraceptives, and other treatment regimens as appropriateRefers patients to specialists and other healthcare resources as clinically indicatedDirects and coordinates patient care activities of nursing staff, care coordinators, medical assistants, and support staffEnsures completion of patient follow-up tasks, laboratory reviews, imaging reviews, referrals, and required documentation in a timely and efficient mannerMaintains accurate patient records and provides appropriate billing and coding documentation.Participates in health promotion, education, and prevention programsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and provider collaborationAssists in facilitating training and mentorship to improve and advance the professional skills and competence of clinical support staffParticipates in the education of clinical students, community partners, and healthcare trainees in accordance with CCHCI educational programs Required Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Midwifery programCurrent Arizona licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)Current Arizona prescribing authority and DEA registration, as requiredCurrent CPR certificationAny combination of education and/or experience that provides the necessary skills required may be consideredParticipation in continuing education programs as necessary to maintain professional licensure and certificationDriver 's License and Proof of Insurance may be required if requesting mileage reimbursementValid Fingerprint Clearance Card required Preferred Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:Two (2) years of women's health, gynecology, family planning, or midwifery experience preferredExperience performing colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and contraceptive device insertion and removalBilingual in English and Spanish preferred Required Language Skills: Ability to comprehend and compose effective instructions, correspondence, and communications in English in both oral and written formatAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, internal providers and staff and other agency personnelAbility to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel Physical Requirements: Ability to occasionally exert enough force to move objects weighing up to 25 poundsAbility to continuously remain in a stationary positionAbility to constantly move about inside the workplace to assist patients and operate office or medical equipmentPossesses hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to constantly operate computers, telephones, and medical equipmentPossesses close visual acuity necessary to accurately review and document patient informationAbility to discern the nature of sounds at a normal spoken volumePossesses range of body motion and ability to assist patients as necessary during examinations and proceduresOther Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for women's health, gynecologic care, reproductive health, and family planningKnowledge of evidence-based preventive healthcare practices across the lifespanKnowledge of contraceptive methods, counseling techniques, and reproductive health servicesAbility to perform office-based gynecologic procedures, including colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and contraceptive device placement and removalKnowledge of relevant pharmaceuticals and treatment modalities related to women's healthAbility to skillfully gather and analyze clinical dataAbility to perform a variety of assignments and make decisions requiring considerable independent judgmentAbility to resolve challenges and work effectively under pressureDisplays a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of HIPAA and Corporate Compliance rules and regulationsKnowledge of community health center operations and healthcare plansComputer literacy requiredAbility to employ motivational techniques to train, mentor, and lead staffAbility to develop and present educational programs and workshopsAbility to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and develop realistic action plans Work Environment & Conditions: Work environment is typical of a health clinic setting with occasional exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and hazardous chemicalsWork occasionally involves the use of medical instruments, needles, and other clinical equipmentWork requires reliable transportation, as the position may require occasional travel and extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekendsWork requires the ability to be contacted by cell phone during or outside regular work hours
