Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. As a vital member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a telemetry unit focused on general medical-surgical needs.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 12-hour Night Shifts; 1900-0730
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday work required based on unit needs; travelers must work two major holidays.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a telemetry unit, monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Document patient assessments and interventions in an electronic health record system.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards while continuously improving care practices.
• Float to acute care or overflow/surge units as needed based on divisional requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Telemetry RN in a hospital setting.
• Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia test as part of the application process.

Unit Information

• 36 beds available: 29 private rooms and 7 semi-private spaces.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is generally 1:3 or 1:4.

Orientation and Credentialing

• Candidates will attend an introductory orientation on the Monday and Tuesday of the start week.
• Additional training sessions will include department-specific training and electronic medical record training.
• Credentialing paperwork, including CBC, DS, and laboratory work, must be completed within three days of offer acceptance.
