Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Imaging Specialty: General Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Not specified Certifications: BLS, NMTCB Must-Have: Basic nuclear medicine principles and practices Experience with various patient types including cardiac, GI, pulmonary, oncology Ability to start IVs Experience with GE equipment and SPECT CT Good communication and interpersonal skills Description: This position is for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center. The bed count is approximately 80. The environment involves working with inpatient, outpatient, and ED patients. The patient types include cardiac, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and oncology. Daily patient volumes range from 7 to 18. The staffing model includes 2-3 technologists per day. There is one tech per day for PET scans, with five patient slots available. PET workflows are independent from general imaging. Support on the unit includes a department supervisor and other nuclear medicine technologists. Familiarity with charting systems is preferred, including EPIC, GE 850, McKesson PACS, and Nuc Trak. The role may require floating to the Cancer Center for PET scans during the second half of the contract. Weekend rotations include being on call. Call expectations are one call shift per week and one weekend every fourth weekend. Call will also be required for one holiday per contract. Scrub color is flexible.
