Overview
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Surgical Oncologist for a clinical track faculty position at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Division of Surgical Oncology is a collegial, dynamic group offering state-of-the-art care for malignant and benign conditions. The Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan, founded in 1850, is internationally recognized for excellence in patient care and education. Our Department works with the Rogel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, widely acclaimed as a leader in clinical cancer care and research.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for gastric, foregut, and peritoneal malignancies, including minimally invasive approaches.
- Develop and perform Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) procedures.
- Participate in teaching residents and medical students; contribute to education.
- Engage in research, quality improvement, and potential leadership opportunities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; may assume an appropriate leadership role depending on qualifications and interests.
Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible Surgical Oncologist; fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology or equivalent.
- Interest in gastric, foregut, and peritoneal malignancies with experience or strong interest in HIPEC.
- Commitment to clinical duties plus teaching; ability to engage in research, education, and quality improvement.
- Eligibility for academic appointment at the University of Michigan; potential for leadership depending on qualifications.
