Laborers with Cando are responsible for performing the safe and efficient loading, unloading and securement of product to railcars. Working in a customer-oriented environment, the Laborer must work well in teams to maximize efficiency while demonstrating a strong initiative and safety focus.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate or move equipment around the yard and shop.
• Help maintain inventory of supplies and/or shop equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Flexibility and ability to work on various shop, maintenance, and yard tasks.
• Perform job safety analyses (JSA's) and safety meetings.
• Attend communication meetings and safety training as scheduled.

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

• Prioritize and perform multiple tasks with the ability to meet daily demands and function in busy situations.
• Ability to operate and perform daily maintenance checks on required machinery.
• Medically fit to work in a safety sensitive environment; physically fit including the ability to pull self-up and down from heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions on a site and some evening and weekends shift may be needed.
• Demonstrate initiative to work with others to foster a respectful workplace.
• Able to accept new challenges and responsibilities as they arise.

Education & Experience

• High School or GED.
• Read, write, speak and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Flexibility and ability to work on various shop, maintenance, and yard tasks.
• Environmental awareness.
• Visual Thread Inspection certification a plus.
