With growing offices in Detroit, MI and Jackson, MS, and an expanding group of remote attorneys, Fletcher & Sippel is positioned to serve rail and transportation clients across the United States. Role Description The Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling transportation and rail‑related litigation matters in the Jackson, MS office. This full‑time, on‑site role includes drafting and preparing legal documents, organizing case files, and assisting with pleadings and motions. The paralegal will conduct legal and factual research, review and summarize documents, manage discovery responses, and coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external parties. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining case calendars, tracking deadlines, preparing trial notebooks and hearing materials, and supporting attorneys throughout all stages of litigation. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment. Qualifications Strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting and formatting pleadings and motions. Experience in document review, organization of case files, and management of discovery materials. Proficiency in legal research, including use of legal research databases and citation checking. Ability to assist with preparation, filing, and tracking of pleadings and motions in federal and state courts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with careful attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, including managing deadlines and multiple matters. Proficiency with standard office and legal software (e.g., MS Office, document management systems, e‑filing platforms). Prior litigation paralegal experience, preferably in transportation, rail, or related industries. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program is preferred.
