A hospital in Mason City, IA is seeking a Locum OB Hospitalist to support labor and delivery services due to ongoing coverage needs. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with in-house shifts and the chance to work in a collaborative teaching hospital environment.

Approximately 500600 births per year

Collaborative care team including OBGYNs, family medicine residents, pediatric hospitalists, NICU nurses, pharmacists, and lactation consultants

Teaching hospital with residency program and medical student rotations

EMR: Epic

Nursing Support: 1:1 with additional Birth Center staff

Start: ASAP

24-hour in-house shifts

Shift scheduling: 2496 hour blocks

Average ~4 shifts per month (as needed)

Oversee Labor & Delivery unit

Triage OB patients and manage admissions

Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries

Manage high-risk and low-risk obstetric cases

Provide urgent gynecological consultations and procedures

Support teaching and mentoring of residents and staff

Assist OB/GYN colleagues with complex surgical cases when needed

Board Certified in OBGYN REQUIRED

Active Iowa License REQUIRED

Fellowship Training in Obstetrics & Gynecology REQUIRED

Clean Malpractice and Background History REQUIRED

NPDB Self-Query (within current month) REQUIRED
