Position Summary
The Pre-Dress Commercial Door Technician is responsible for preparing commercial doors and frames for installation by accurately assembling doors to meet project specifications and hardware requirements. This role ensures all doors are production-ready and comply with manufacturer, customer, and industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review work orders, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Measure and mark door and frame locations for hardware preparation.
• Machine doors for hinges, locks, closers, panic devices, strikes, and other hardware.
• Cut, drill, reinforce, and prep wood, metal, and specialty doors.
• Install hardware templates and reinforcement plates as required.
• Assemble and prepare doors for shipment or field installation.
• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
• Maintain production schedules and meet established deadlines.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, milling equipment, and door-machining equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in commercial doors, carpentry, woodworking, fabrication, or construction preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and door schedules.
• Strong math and measuring skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, and power equipment safely.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in a warehouse or production environment.
• Manual dexterity required for operating tools and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of commercial door and hardware applications.
• Ability to accurately measure and prepare doors for hardware installation.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
