This is an important role assisting the crew lead and instrument operator with daily tasks.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assist in the collection of surveying data needed to complete different types of survey work assignments for pipeline projectsPlace marks, stakes, pins, and monumentsDrive stakes to fix survey points and determine location data to be placed on stakesMeasure distances using survey tape and be able to accurately readCarry stakes and other field equipment over long distances and through a variety of terrainPerform maintenance of field equipment and maintain supplies for survey crewTake directions from Party Chief and/or Instrument Operator in a safe and efficient mannerRequirements:Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and withstand working outside for up to 8-12 hours a day and 6 to 7 days per week in varying temperaturesMust possess manual dexterity with the physical ability to work in situations which require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to fifty (50) poundsAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Protective eyewear, gloves, mask) and other safety equipment required by the company guidelines and proceduresMust pass pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screenMust be willing to travel for extended periods of timeThe ideal candidate will possess the following:Previous pipeline surveying experience preferred. Previous Mott MacDonald experience preferred.Familiarity with commonly used surveying terms and with the use and care of survey tools and other survey field equipment used for measuring, sighting, and levelingStrong work ethic and team-player attitudeSuccessful completion of the pre-employment fitness-for-duty physical, background check and drug screenA valid driver licenseMust be willing to travel for extended periods of timeApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US, as Mott MacDonald is unable to provide sponsorship at this time.Benefits & RewardAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
