Medical Science Liaison - South Region (TX, MO, LA, OK, AR) Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a field‑based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to engage with national and regional thought leaders, investigators, and healthcare providers in the South Region (TX, MO, LA, OK, AR). The role focuses on non‑promotional, evidence‑based communication of Ipsen’s neuroscience portfolio, support of clinical research and investigator‑sponsored studies, and development of a regional territory plan. Role Overview The MSL is a scientific medical expert within the U.S. Medical Affairs Neuroscience team, responsible for: Engaging with HCPs and thought leaders to share scientific insights and gather clinical feedback. Supporting clinical trial efforts and investigator‑sponsored studies (ISS) through site identification, initiation, and performance monitoring. Delivering accurate, non‑promotional medical information in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines. Representing Ipsen at conferences, educational events, and medical meetings. Developing and executing a regional territory plan and facilitating speaker programs. Responsibilities Identify, access, and develop peer‑to‑peer relationships with regional and national thought leaders, investigators, and providers at academic and non‑academic institutions. Maintain deep scientific expertise on Ipsen’s portfolio and the competitive landscape. Conduct ongoing scientific exchange about the science and clinical application of Ipsen’s products. Assist with Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) – site identification, initiation, education, and operational feedback. Partner with Medical Affairs and Medical Information to provide accurate medical content. Respond to on‑ and off‑label queries with integrity, adherence to legal and regulatory standards. Represent Ipsen at scientific conferences and continuing medical education events. Support investigator‑sponsored studies (ISS) through submissions, initiation and closure processes. Lead the development and implementation of a regional territory plan. Train and facilitate speakers on Ipsen’s products. Balance workload to achieve local medical strategies within timelines. Engage in continuous learning and attend upskilling programs within the therapeutic area. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (marketing, HEOR, medical operations, etc.) while ensuring compliance. Respond rapidly to internal and external requests for medical affairs support. Qualifications 2‑3 years of MSL work experience, with previous migraine/headache experience required. Experience in Neurology/Movement Disorders or Pain considered beneficial. Doctoral level in the sciences (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, Nursing, or equivalent) required. Fluent in English. Excellent planning, presentation, writing, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build credible scientific relationships with experts. Strong interpersonal and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Knowledge of regulatory requirements (PhRMA, OIG, etc.) and compliant medical communication. Fundamental understanding of clinical research and project management ability. Strong oral and written communication and leadership capabilities. Ability to travel 50‑70% within the territory. Preferred Qualifications Experience with product launches and lifecycle management. Additional clinical or translational research experience relevant to neuroscience.
