Rue Gilt Groupe is looking for a Data Scientist to join our industry-leading Data Science and Machine Learning Team . In this role, you will work with our seasoned data scientists and engineers to build innovative AI solutions that power our profitable, off-price, luxury e-commerce business with three uniquely established brands: Rue La La, Gilt, and ShopSimon.

Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

Responsibilities:

• Work on challenging AI/ML projects like NLP, computer vision, recommender systems, advanced statistical prediction models, and other AI technologies to drive revenue and enhance the personalized shopping experiences of our 50M members
• Develop innovative solutions to business problems leveraging both classic and cutting-edge AI/ML algorithms/frameworks
• Build end-to-end large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines and scalable architectures and services to efficiently handle large amounts of data
• Work with a state-of-the-art data technology stack (Spark, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Snowflake, Airflow, AWS Ecosystem) that operates in the cloud to empower predictive modeling services for both internal and external customers
• Productionize scalable and distributed data science solutions in cloud-based ecosystems and be responsible for day-to-day production support
• You will be involved in the design and implementation of applications and tools based on AI (including GenAI) that will revolutionize the way our software interacts with users while maintaining a responsible approach to the use of these technologies
• Identify opportunities for data science to increase the organization’s efficiency and lift our core business
• Collaborate with a wide range of business stakeholders and departments ranging from Marketing, Merchandising, and Planning to Executive Leadership
• Work in multi-functional agile teams to experiment continuously, iterate, and deliver on data-driven product objectives
• Work closely with fellow engineers from other teams to design and develop cross-team data exchange microservices, effectively communicating your needs and understanding theirs

Qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field with 1+ years of industry experience or a Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience
• Proficiency with Deep Learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch
• Experience in Reinforcement Learning and Bandit frameworks
• Strong knowledge of Spark or similar big data platforms and technologies
• Demonstrated experience working in an agile environment, delivering iteratively and efficiently
• Expertise in machine learning, feature engineering, and software development
• Proven experience with statistical modeling and large-scale data analytics
• Skilled in writing clean, efficient code in Python and SQL
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data and table design
• In-depth understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with production-grade Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI
• Familiarity with building scalable microservices for high-volume data delivery on AWS or similar platforms
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, accept feedback, and foster a collaborative spirit
• Result-driven approach to executing AI/ML solutions to drive business growth
