Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Interventional Radiology Technologist performs and assists with invasive diagnostic procedures used to evaluate and treat various medical conditions. The role prepares patients, equipment, medications, contrast media, and sterile supplies while supporting the Radiologist throughout procedures. The technologist ensures patient safety, high-quality imaging, accurate documentation, and compliance with radiation protection standards.


Key Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients, obtain relevant medical history, and prepare patients appropriately.
  
  
• Review clinical information and assist the Radiologist with complex invasive diagnostic procedures.
  
  
• Prepare contrast media, medications, IV solutions, sterile supplies, and required equipment.
  
  
• Set up and operate imaging equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and other procedural equipment.
  
  
• Assist with invasive procedures involving needles, catheters, and other specialized equipment.
  
  
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  
  
• Maintain adequate supplies and ensure equipment and sterile materials are properly stored and readily available.
