Position Overview Surgical Pathologist with Expertise in Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathology Department of Pathology, University of California, San Francisco. The Department of Pathology at UCSF is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full‑time faculty position focused on clinical service, teaching and research, primarily in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology. Qualifications MD degree or equivalent. Valid California medical license or eligibility to obtain one. Completion of a Gastrointestinal–Hepatobiliary Pathology fellowship or equivalent experience. Board Certified or board‑eligible in Anatomic Pathology. Must list current and/or pending qualifications on application. Demonstrated interest or success in scholarly activities such as research presentations, book chapters/reviews, and original publications. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills (preferred). Preferred Within the first two years of completing a GI–Hepatobiliary fellowship. Interest in covering additional surgical pathology subspecialties (accommodated but not required). Responsibilities Participate in the surgical pathology service, including night and weekend call. Provide departmental teaching for medical students, house‑staff and fellows. Attend interdepartmental conferences. Engage in clinical and/or translational research. Salary and Benefits The minimum base salary for this position is $106,000 – $405,900, determined by rank and step at appointment, according to UC salary scales. Membership in the Health Sciences compensation plan provides eligibility for additional compensation.
