Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate team member with strong analytical aptitude to join our growing Actuarial team. The Actuarial Specialist will be responsible for pricing personal lines insurance products by applying established actuarial standards, methodologies, and expertise. They will develop strategic pricing and product solutions designed to align with and support the company's business objectives. What You Will Do As A Actuarial Specialist
Conduct reviews of rates, analyzing profit and loss results, past and current trends, and projecting underwriting losses.
Completes detailed analyses, makes recommendations, and prepares rate package proposals for executive management review.
Supports the development and design of new products and programs.
Prepares rate filing materials, exhibits, rate manual pages, and other data analyses promptly and accurately for use in filing rate and product changes.
Develop competitive intelligence reporting to compare and contrast operations and results. Specific examples include compiling competitor rates and overall market pricing levels by product.
Develop and analyze reports.
Continued professional development in actuarial science.
Works on unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
Acts independently; determines new methods and procedures on new assignments.
Uses subject matter expertise , knowledge and skills to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
What You Bring As A Actuarial Specialist
5 + years of relevant work experience
Bachelor's Degree in related field required
P roficiency with Microsoft Office products
Experience with analytics packages ( e.g. R) or programming in general
Excellent understanding of rate indications
Experience with R-Shiny is a plus
Experience with SQL database language
Experience with Property and Casualty insurance
Strong organizational and time management skills

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member
Pay Range* : $90,000 - $132,000
*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.
