Detailed Job Description
Provides triage, symptom management, and clinical decision support for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, routing patients to the appropriate level of care using evidence-based neurology and dementia care guidelines. Delivers direct outpatient nursing care, including comprehensive assessments, monitoring of Anti Amyloid Targeted Therapy (ATT) infusions, recognition and escalation of adverse events, and post-infusion follow-up. Educates patients and caregivers on dementia care, ATT infusion therapy, monitoring requirements, and care plans, using communication strategies appropriate for cognitive impairment. Coordinates the continuum of care from referral or urgent/emergent follow-up through infusion treatment and ongoing outpatient management, collaborating across neurology, radiology, pharmacy, infusion services, and support teams. Documents clinical care and collects, enters, and validates required registry and outcomes data (e.g., ATZ.net), supporting program safety monitoring, quality improvement, and performance evaluation. Serves as a liaison among physicians, nurses, technologists, and support staff to ensure timely communication, efficient workflows, and high-quality patient care. Participates in quality, process improvement, and accreditation-related activities, including adherence to documentation standards, review of outcomes data, and implementation of standard work. Assists with daily clinic operations, staff education, orientation of new employees, and training support as needed. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Required Qualifications
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Three (3) years of RN experience. Three (3) years of related professional experience, including direct care, case management and leadership or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing degree. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
