Senior Inventory Accountant

Overview of Position: Our client in Coppell is looking for their next Senior Inventory Accountant. This person is responsible for the month end close process, preparation and review of monthly account reconciliations, analysis of inventory accounts and recording entries to the general ledger. A significant portion of this position is focused on inventory accounting, but duties will include other areas as well.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for inventory accounting transactions, including but not limited to shrink, out of stock inventory movements, in-transit inventory, cost of sales analysis, product and freight receipts analysis, as well as stock ledger maintenance and reporting
• Responsible for all inventory related reconciliations
• Oversee other expense categories as assigned, including monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Communicate regularly with other departments on accounting related questions
• Assist with interim and year-end audits
• Assist in preparation of financial reports and monthly financial statement review
• Support the annual budget and forecasting process as needed

Experience and Skills Required:

• Education: BS or BA, concentration in Accounting
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 3+ years of General Ledger experience
• Inventory/COGS experience is strongly preferred
• Retail experience a plus
• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
