Adjunct Faculty - Accounting

Northern State University's School of Business invites applications for part-time adjunct accounting instructors to meet current and future teaching needs. We are seeking qualified candidates for both online and in-person instruction, with assignments based on departmental needs, instructor qualifications, and course availability. Potential teaching assignments include:

• Principles of Accounting I (ACCT210)
• Principles of Accounting II (ACCT211)
• Intermediate Accounting I (ACCT310)
• Intermediate Accounting II (ACCT311)
• Accounting Systems (ACCT360)
• Income Tax Accounting (ACCT430)

Teaching assignments will be made on current and future departmental needs. Applicants are encouraged to identify the accounting courses and instructional formats for which they are qualified and interested in teaching.

Required Education and Experience:

• Master's degree in accounting, or a master's degree in business administration or related field with an emphasis, concentration, or substantial graduate coursework in accounting from an accredited institution of higher learning
• Academic preparation and/or professional experience in accounting appropriate to the course(s) to be taught.

Candidates with substantial professional accounting experience are encouraged to apply, including those whose graduate degree is in a related business discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience in higher education, including experience teaching online, adult, or non-traditional learners
• Relevant professional certifications, such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE
• Current professional experience or demonstrated expertise in one or more of the accounting areas from the courses listed above
