Job Summary

SVNA Home Assistance is seeking a compassionate, patient, and encouraging caregiver to support a client who is working toward greater independence in daily life.

This position is much more than traditional caregiving. We are looking for someone who enjoys mentoring, teaching, and empowering others. The ideal caregiver understands that progress takes time and is committed to helping our client develop the life skills and routines needed to successfully manage daily responsibilities with confidence and eventually function as independently as possible.

Experience supporting individuals with ADHD, mental health diagnoses, and/or addiction recovery is highly preferred. A calm, non-judgmental, and positive approach is essential.

• Provide compassionate, non-medical support in the client's home.

• Assist the client in establishing and maintaining daily routines.

• Teach and reinforce life skills such as organization, time management, meal planning, household tasks, and personal responsibility.

• Encourage independence by coaching rather than completing tasks for the client whenever appropriate.

• Provide gentle reminders, motivation, and accountability while allowing the client to build confidence.

• Support emotional well-being through patience, active listening, and positive encouragement.

• Help create structure and consistency to improve daily functioning.

• Perform light housekeeping alongside the client as a teaching opportunity.

• Prepare simple meals with the client while promoting healthy habits and independent meal preparation.

• Maintain clear communication with the SVNA Home Assistance office regarding the client's progress and any concerns.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, compassionate, and understanding.

• Comfortable working with individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges.

• Knowledgeable about addiction recovery and able to provide supportive, non-judgmental care.

• Organized and skilled at helping others develop routines and healthy habits.

• Encouraging, dependable, and able to motivate others without being controlling.

• A strong communicator who can build trust and maintain professional boundaries.

• Passionate about helping a client achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

• Flexible scheduling

• Shifts beginning at 3 hours or longer
