Work hours: 51 hours/week, ~8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Sunday: 2 hours/day

Monday - Friday: 9 hours/day

Saturday: 4 hours/day

Job Duties:

We are a farm that grows sugar beets, we will need someone to help with the machine prep and repairs. Help with planting and spraying the crop. Also snow removal during the winter months in the farmyards. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; clean work areas; direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; maintain inventory; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self-propelled machinery; record information about crops; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, GPS guidance systems, forklift, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, skid steers, sprayers, spreaders, tillage equipment, tractors.

The workers will be performing the duties to help produce sugar beets.

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed.

Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must speak and understand English.

Must be able to obtain appropriate driver's license (Class D) following hire and obtain clean driving record.

Job will require exposure to extreme temperatures.

Extensive pushing or pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employer's drug free and alcohol-free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.

Additional Compensation

Employer may, at the company’s sole discretion, pay workers at a rate above the minimum required and/or provide additional compensation such as bonuses, fixed salaries, PTO, insurance, incentive pay, or other benefits to any worker employed under this job order based on lawful, non-discriminatory factors including skill, performance, tenure with the employer, licensing, training, punctuality, or prior related experience.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
