Journey Specialist II

The Journey Specialist II will be responsible for the day‑to‑day development and execution of email marketing campaigns as well as other digital marketing channels to drive engagement. Responsibilities Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns using proprietary software and Velocity scripting across email, SMS, push, and digital advertising channels. Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful execution of campaigns, including audience development, creative collaboration, and identification of growth opportunities. Utilize customer data and segmentation with conditional logic, dynamic content, and personalization rules to increase relevance and effectiveness. Ensure accurate rendering and functionality across devices, browsers, and email clients, performing thorough QA testing and troubleshooting. Conduct and analyze A/B testing to optimize campaign performance. Maintain thorough documentation of campaigns and processes in line with GEICO email development standards. Develop and maintain reusable email templates and modular components. Serve as a subject‑matter expert, communicating performance results, strategy, and recommendations to internal partners. Own and lead deep sales‑enablement integrations between the email marketing platform and CRM tools. Stay current with industry trends and best practices and contribute to business reviews. Perform other related projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant email marketing experience with platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Cheetah Digital, Braze, Movable Ink, Validity, etc. Hands‑on knowledge of end‑to‑end email and digital marketing concepts, including campaign setup, copywriting, design, segmentation, deliverability, CRM, QA, A/B testing, and legal compliance. Experience with Velocity, HTML, and CSS coding and a strong foundation in coding fundamentals. Solid understanding of personalization, dynamic content, and data‑driven marketing. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, or comparable tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Proven ability to achieve results in a matrixed environment. Strong organization and project‑management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting triggered, lifecycle, or behavioral email programs. Familiarity with CRM data structures and marketing data integrations. Basic level knowledge of SQL. Experience in the insurance, financial services, telecom, or other subscription‑based businesses. Location & Work Arrangement Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite, 2 days remote. Sites: Bethesda, MD; New York, NY; Cleveland, OH; or Chicago, IL. Remote considered with 10% travel for events and meetings. Compensation Annual Salary: $97,375.00 - $172,200.00 (range is a general guideline; compensation is based on role scope, experience, education, and location).
