Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CT Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 09/07/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel CT Technologist The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques to produce sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, while also assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures. Essential Job Functions Performs complex CT procedures with professional judgment. Reviews and obtains the patient’s clinical history for procedures, ensuring documentation is accurate and scanned into PACS. Prepares, screens, and reviews the accuracy of contrast questionnaires with patients and family members, scanning them into EPIC. Identifies and administers contrast media for CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Communicates with the Radiologist and Referring Physician to clarify prescriptions when necessary. Verifies insurance authorization for exam scripts and sends modification forms to Finance for re-verification. Obtains outside studies (CD) and schedules them in EPIC to ensure availability in PACS for Radiologists' comparison. Provides exam copies to patients and requesting physicians or family members as needed. Evaluates radiographs using the PACS system to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value. Collects relevant patient information to prepare for scanning and ensure patient safety. Prepares patients for scanning, including the use of shielding and immobilization devices. Determines the appropriate type and dose of contrast media to administer. Provides explanations and instructions to patients, addressing their questions and concerns. Performs venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines. Monitors patients for any adverse reactions during procedures. Maintains a schedule that may include holidays and weekends as needed. Adheres to attendance and punctuality standards. Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 6 hours a day. Adapts care delivery to meet the specific needs of patient populations, considering factors such as age, culture, and language. Communicates effectively with patients, parents, and/or caregivers. Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications Experience Minimum of 1 year of experience in CT is required; 2 years is preferred. Experience with post processing and PACS (Fuji) is required. Knowledge of EPIC EMR is preferred. Education Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Certifications & Licenses NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License is required. ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association is required within three months of hire. ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license is preferred. Skills Required Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning of the human body. Understanding of mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware. Thorough knowledge of PACS system. Maintains Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits. Team members must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire date.
