General Summary: The position works in partnership with the Store Accounting management and accounting teams to ensure adherence to company accounting policies and internal controls. Key responsibilities include monitoring store-related accounting activities, providing accounting support to store management, and participating in store paperwork audits and compliance initiatives.

Essential Job Duties:

• Collaborate with store management teams to audit and complete daily store paperwork for assigned store(s).
• Assist with oversight of store paperwork audit processes, ensuring accurate and complete data has been captured and/or entered in the accounting software.
• Ensure necessary accounting support provided for store management directly or by the team.
• Assist daily store deposit verifications efforts.
• Assist with investigation of cash over and short issues as needed/requested.
• Assist with accounting oversight of various rebate and loyalty programs.
• Assist in ensuring timely and accurate monthly close of store accounting period.
• Ensure complete and accurate import of vendor invoices, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Participate in projects that have an impact on store accounting upon request.
• Provide information (shrink, cost/retail department percentages, etc.) to personnel as requested.
• Assist in integration of accounting system with other systems (EBT, loyalty, etc.) as requested.
  • Recommend work-flow ideas to enhance compliance and growth, promoting efficiency and continuous improvement of processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 4 years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Team player, honest, hardworking, and excellent attendance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized with attention to detail and able to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

This position is considered sedentary, and work is performed in an office setting with long periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen.
