Manufacturing Engineer IIVernon Hills, Illinois, United StatesJob IntroductionThe Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical management and development of existing product lines.Role ResponsibilityThe following reflects essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. It is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as the company may deem necessary:Analyze and design manufacturing cells that conform to Lean Manufacturing standardsMaintain and improve technical procedures for the manufacturing processesMaintain and improve statistical process controlsDetermine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.Work collaboratively with Design and Purchasing team to improve existing productsAdvanced Product Quality Planning (APQP); Support all current and new product introductionUtilize production metrics to identify waste and areas for continuous improvement (Pass rate, Scrap, Throughput)Utilize statistical analysis to make data driven decisionsEnsure all manufacturing safety policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all timesStay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies andThe Ideal CandidateBachelors degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentFive to Ten years previous manufacturing engineering experience requiredAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyLean / Six Sigma experience preferredVSM / PDSA experience preferredStrong problem-solving capabilitiesKnowledge of machining and materials, preferredSecondary process knowledge, preferredRobust knowledge or manufacturing standardsStrong Blueprint knowledgeHands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processesSelf-motivated with a strong work ethic· Process-oriented mentalityBasic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or six sigma methodologyProficient with the Microsoft Suite Software
