Unit Nurse Manager (RN/LVN)We are seeking a Unit Nurse Manager (RN or LVN) to provide clinical leadership and oversight for nursing care within an assigned unit. This role is responsible for supervising nursing staff, ensuring high-quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting a collaborative interdisciplinary care model.The Unit Nurse Manager plays a critical role in resident outcomes by coordinating care, responding to changes in condition, mentoring staff, and ensuring accurate documentation and survey readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Resident CareProvide direct supervision and clinical oversight of nursing care during assigned shiftsPerform daily rounds on residents, monitoring for changes in condition, wounds, IV therapy, infections, and high-risk concernsInitiate timely physician communication using SBAR and follow up on labs, orders, and treatment plansParticipate in admissions, readmissions, care planning, and resident assessmentsStaff Supervision & SupportSupervise LVNs and CNAs, including medication administration, treatments, and ADLsProvide real-time coaching, education, and performance feedbackAddress staffing needs, calloffs, and shift coverage to ensure safe staffing levelsCare Planning & DocumentationOversee and update individualized care plans based on resident condition changesReview MARs/TARs, nursing notes, and admission documentation for accuracy and complianceConduct chart audits and provide inservices to support survey readinessInterdisciplinary & Physician CoordinationCollaborate with physicians, therapy, social services, dietary, and other departmentsParticipate in care conferences and interdisciplinary meetingsCoordinate hospital transfers and discharge planningRisk Management & ComplianceInvestigate and document falls, incidents, pressure injuries, and infectionsEnsure adherence to infection control, isolation precautions, and safety protocolsMaintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standardsShift ManagementConduct clinical huddles and shift-to-shift reportsEnsure all orders, documentation, and followups are completed before shift endQualificationsLicensure & CertificationCurrent, unrestricted RN or LVN license (State of California)Current BCLS certificationEducationGraduate of an accredited School of NursingExperienceMinimum 6 months of long-term care or acute care nursing experience within the past two years, or equivalent competencyKnowledge & SkillsStrong clinical judgment and leadership abilitiesExperience with IV therapy, wound care, and medically complex residentsEffective communication and documentation skillsAbility to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teamsKnowledge of infection control, safety, and compliance standardsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbsFrequent standing and walking in a clinical environmentUse of PPE as required (gowns, masks, gloves)Indoor facility work with occasional exposure to noise and clinical hazardsWhy Join Us?Leadership opportunity with direct impact on resident careSupportive interdisciplinary environmentStable, mission driven organization focused on quality outcomesOpportunity to grow professionally within nursing leadership
