Behavioral Interventionist

Job Title: Behavior Interventionist
Hourly Rate : $23-$28 per hour
Location:  Culver City, CA
Position Summary:
Behavior Interventionists support students in an educational setting, in a one-to-one relationship, to meet the goals expressed in the student's individualized educational program. They offer individualized supports in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule/Shift
  • School hours are generally 6.5-7 hours per day. 
• Key Duties
  • Implement student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Assist teacher(s) and work collaboratively with educational and behavioral team for implementation of classroom/school routines.
  • Accurately collect and graph data.
  • Utilize CPI de-escalation strategies and physical management as necessary for safety.

Requirements:  

• Education
  • Required:  Associates degree or higher (48 credit hours+)
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a setting with students that have a level of behavioral need.

Licenses & Certifications

• None required

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively across school teams
• Familiarity with school based systems and Individual Education Plans
• Data collection skills
• Empathy, understanding of developmental stages, and understanding and ability to utilize ABA strategies.
