FNP, PA-C, or PHMNP – Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Provider

Full-Time or Part-Time | Growing Outpatient Practice

We are a growing outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care to individuals working toward recovery.

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Physician Assistant (PA-C), or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team and provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who is passionate about addiction medicine, mental health, and helping patients achieve long-term recovery.

Position Responsibilities

The MAT Provider will:

• Provide comprehensive evaluation and ongoing treatment for patients with substance use disorders.
• Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment services in accordance with current clinical standards and applicable regulations.
• Evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress.
• Prescribe and manage medications within the provider's scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Assess patients for co-occurring mental health and medical conditions.
• Provide medication management and follow-up appointments.
• Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness, adherence, and potential side effects.
• Order and review appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies.
• Collaborate with counselors, clinical staff, and other members of the treatment team.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, recovery, relapse prevention, and overall health.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in case consultation and coordination of care when appropriate.
• Make referrals to higher levels of care, detoxification, inpatient treatment, or other community resources when clinically indicated.
• Support a patient-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach to treatment.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current and unrestricted FNP, PA-C, or PMHNP license in North Carolina.
• Current DEA registration, as applicable to the position.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required state and federal prescribing credentials.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, respectful, and nonjudgmental patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Preferred:

• Experience in addiction medicine, MAT, behavioral health, psychiatry, or substance use disorder treatment.
• Experience treating opioid use disorder and/or alcohol use disorder.
• X-waiver experience or current knowledge of buprenorphine treatment requirements, as applicable.
• Experience working with patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
