Civil Attorney - General Counsel - Legal Department - Civil Division

Represents Fort Bend County in general civil matters/civil actions, not litigation, as required. Drafts and reviews legal documents such as contracts, agreements and resolutions and may participate in negotiations related to such documents. Conducts legal research. Drafts and reviews documents related to real estate transactions. Issues legal opinions to elected officials and directors/managers. Responds to requests for information under the Texas Public Information Act. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Jurisprudence; Licensed by the Texas Supreme Court. 4 years job related experience required. Prior government experience and real estate experience desirable. Valid Driver's License. Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, elected officials and department directors/managers. SALARY RANGE: $51.29 - $64.12 hourly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE: Upon filling positions #LI-JL1 All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
