Sit Down Forklift Operator

$20.00 per hour

Monday-Friday, 6:00am-4:00pm

Onsite in Columbus, OH

What You’ll Do:

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move lumber, plywood, engineered wood products, and other building materials
• Load and unload flatbed trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
• Stage materials for customer pickup and outbound shipments
• Pull, verify, and prepare customer orders according to pick tickets
• Inspect incoming shipments for damage, shortages, and accuracy
• Organize inventory and maintain clean, accessible storage locations
• Perform routine inventory counts and assist with cycle counts
• Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transport
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and lumber yard
• Assist with general warehouse duties, including stocking, sweeping, and material handling.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift required
• Experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or building materials environment preferred
• Ability to safely handle long, heavy, and oversized materials
• Ability to work outside and in hot/cold temperatures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and inventory labels
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
