Vice President, South Central Zone Leader - Underwriting

This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to manage an underwriting team. Ledgebrook needs someone who can run the South Central region as a business. You’ll own its growth, profitability and underwriting performance. That means setting the regional strategy, leading the people, developing wholesale broker relationships and understanding exactly what is happening across the portfolio. You’ll have the authority to make decisions—and the accountability that comes with it. The role includes: Leading and developing the South Central underwriting team Owning regional production, profitability and portfolio performance Developing and executing the regional business plan Providing technical direction on complex casualty risks Monitoring pricing, submission flow, hit ratios and loss trends Building senior relationships with key wholesale brokers Recruiting, coaching and retaining underwriting talent Working closely with actuarial, claims, product and reinsurance Identifying where the business should grow—and where it shouldn’t Ledgebrook is looking for someone with: A strong commercial casualty underwriting background Experience within E&S or specialty insurance A track record of leading underwriters and delivering profitable growth Established relationships within the South Central wholesale market The technical credibility to handle complex casualty referrals Experience balancing production targets with underwriting discipline Experience across general liability, construction, habitational, hospitality and manufacturing risks would be particularly relevant. A background with an MGA, delegated authority platform or specialty carrier would also be valuable. This could suit someone already leading a regional underwriting operation—or an experienced underwriting leader ready to take full ownership of one. It won’t suit someone who needs several layers of approval before making a decision. Ledgebrook is entrepreneurial, data-driven and growing quickly.
