Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $19.85hr - $21.26hr


Job Overview:


The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients visiting as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures. The candidate will have direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.


Responsibilities:

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures with confidence.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collection.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience required; 1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
