Welcome! Are you ready to join our team? Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Chemist for the Boise Corporate Labs at the Technology Development and manufacturing site! The Lab uses groundbreaking instrumentation and techniques to deliver engineering customers chemistry and materials analysis solutions through expertise in the area of quantitative analysis. The candidate will be developed to provide analytical support for Micron manufacturing, facilities groups, and manufacturing support. Strong expertise in chemistry or analytical chemistry is required. A detailed background in analytical instrumentation, benchtop chemistry methods, sophisticated data analysis techniques and data systems integration are a must, with applications in semiconductor environment preferred. Flexibility for support on standard shifts (A, C, E, F) possibly including nights, will be vital for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain training proficiency on all applicable safety, lab procedure, security, and annual quality related training.
- Strict adherence to all safety/emergency procedures included in the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Willingness and ability to safely work with hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Comfort working in Lab and cleanroom Fab settings.
- Independently leads and/or performs routine and sophisticated operations and maintenance on equipment.
- Conduct experiments and data analysis to ensure quality of outgoing results data.
- Candidate must be comfortable performing in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and must possess the proficiency and desire to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic technical environment.
- Regular writing, accurate documentation, verbal communication, and presentation of results to customers and vendors.
- Collaborate with customers to see opportunities to improve processes and experiments.
Minimum qualifications:
- BS in Chemistry or other relevant science with applicable experience
- ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS
- Ion Chromatography, HPLC and/or LCMS; GC and GCMS
- Molecular spectroscopy: FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Familiarity with LIMS systems.

- Proficiency with data reduction and acquisition software packages
