Fourth Grade Teacher
The Fourth Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned to district standards and ensuring all students learn at high levels. This position requires a commitment to student achievement, collaboration, and maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned with district curriculum and Washington State standards.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those who are at-risk or require additional support.
- Use a variety of assessment tools and data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records of student performance.
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and focused on learning.
- Implement effective classroom management practices that support student engagement and behavior expectations.
- Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to improve student outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and successes.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and required professional development.
- Support school and district initiatives, including curriculum implementation and improvement efforts.
- Integrate technology as a tool to enhance instruction and student learning.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
- Follow all district policies and state and federal laws related to education and student supervision.
- Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s), or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Experience working with elementary students preferred.
- Knowledge of elementary instructional practices and child development.
- Ability to use assessment data to drive instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) preferred.
- Experience integrating technology into instruction preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to carry, push, and pull materials.
- Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
- Ability to effectively communicate and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.
