The PFAS Program Manager reports to the Executive Vice President, ESG, and is responsible for coordinating and advancing EKI’s national PFAS practice. Working collaboratively with EKI’s PFAS technical experts, Regional Directors, Technical Directors, Principals, and Project Managers, the PFAS Program Manager will organize and integrate EKI’s PFAS capabilities, support high-quality project execution, identify and develop opportunities with existing and new client relationships, develop innovative service offerings, and help position EKI as a recognized leader in PFAS consulting.

The PFAS Program Manager will serve as a catalyst for collaboration across EKI’s PFAS practitioners and will help connect technical capabilities with client and market needs. The role combines technical project execution, practice development, internal coordination, client engagement, and business development. Success in the position will require strong technical judgement, the ability to work effectively with and leverage EKI’s subject-matter experts, and the leadership and initiative to build a coordinated and effective PFAS practice.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Advance EKI's PFAS practice by bringing together PFAS practitioners across the company; fostering and promoting knowledge sharing; developing training programs; supporting recruitment of PFAS professionals; identifying technical capabilities, resource needs, and capability gaps; and helping establish priorities and initiatives for continued development of the practice.
  • Develop and expand PFAS opportunities with strategic clients by working with Regional Directors, Technical Directors, Practice Area Directors, Principals, Project Managers, and technical staff to identify PFAS needs and opportunities; developing client-specific strategies; and connecting EKI’s PFAS capabilities with client needs.
  • Lead strategic pursuits by developing capture strategies; preparing and presenting major proposals; supporting interviews; and collaborating across the company to secure high-value projects.
  • Work collaboratively with EKI's PFAS technical experts to strengthen and continuously improve technical standards, QA/QC protocols, workflows, best practices, and innovative approaches that promote technical excellence, consistency, and high-quality project delivery across the company.
  • Advance EKI's PFAS technical capabilities and competitive position by monitoring emerging regulations, research, analytical methods, and treatment technologies; identifying opportunities for innovation and new service offerings, and strategic partnerships; and recommending strategic investments in staff, technology, and capabilities.
  • Strengthen EKI’s external visibility and reputation in PFAS through client and regulatory engagement; technical publications and presentations; industry conferences, technical committees, and other external forums.
  • Serve in substantive technical and project leadership roles on PFAS projects by developing investigation and management strategies; evaluating data; developing technical approaches and recommendations; preparing and reviewing technical work products; and communicating findings and recommendations to clients and regulators.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant environmental and PFAS consulting experience
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of California or be able to obtain license following employment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business opportunities and expand services within the environmental consulting industry
  • Excellent client management skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Proven track record managing complex environmental projects involving regulatory compliance and stakeholder coordination
  • Established relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and/or key industrial clients strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated professional engagement in the PFAS field through publications, conference presentations, regulatory engagement, industry organizations, or other professional activities
  • Proven project management experience, including leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project budgets, schedules, scope and quality to deliver complex project on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead collaborative initiatives across teams, offices, or technical disciplines, including the ability to influence and build alignment without direct supervisory authority

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing high-quality technical reports, proposals, and client deliverables, and the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public
  • Must have ability to lead multiple project teams
  • Must have demonstrated time management skills, strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to personal and professional growth, including the mentorship of others
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workload and frequent short deadlines
  • Must have the ability to obtain medical clearance to work on hazardous waste site(s)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to work remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, quality and thoroughness of the work assigned

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight for customer meetings and site visits up to 20% of the time

COMPENSATION

  • The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on individual and company performance.
