Senior Workers’ Compensation Attorney – In-House Staff Counsel
\nLocation: Rockville Center, Long Island
\nWe are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join an established in-house Staff Counsel team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex litigation, develop defense strategies, and collaborate directly with claims professionals to achieve favorable outcomes.
\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Manage workers’ compensation defense cases from inception through resolution. \n
- Handle depositions, mediations, hearings, discovery, and appeals. \n
- Serve as first-chair counsel in contested proceedings. \n
- Develop litigation strategies, negotiate settlements, and assess legal exposure. \n
- Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents. \n
- Advise claims teams on case developments, risks, and resolution strategies. \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. \n
- Active NY Bar membership in good standing. \n
- At least 5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience. \n
- Strong litigation, negotiation, research, and communication skills. \n
- Ability to independently manage a caseload and make strategic decisions. \n
