Network Administrator – Kings County District Attorney's Office The Kings County District Attorneys Office (KCDA) is one of the largest prosecutor's offices in the country and is committed to developing and implementing innovative prosecutorial strategies. The CIO is looking for a Network Administrator to support the Information Technology Bureau. Under supervision, with some latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the prospective candidate will be responsible for the following: Responsibilities Design & implement new network solutions while improving and maintaining the efficiency and security of the current network. Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security. Manage and support the Cisco Wi‑Fi network. Troubleshoot and correct system misconfigurations, problems, and outages. Work with vendors and assist in the procurement of network equipment. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance regularly. Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources. Install and configure computer network equipment. Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings. Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations. Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades, including disaster recovery and backup. Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases. Qualifications Minimum one year of related network administration experience. Experience installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with Cisco VoIP, multisite, and datacenter connectivity. Strong TCP/IP and VLAN knowledge. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Availability to support 24×7 operations, including on‑call rotation and nights/weekends. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with core supervision and to prioritize competing needs. Self‑driven, resourceful, and able to take initiative. Experience working in legal environments (law firms, court systems) is a plus.
