HR Generalist Regular Full-Time Administrative – Alachua, FL, US Salary Range: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 Annually G&C Food Distributors is a re‑distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. Job Summary The HR Generalist will lead support for HR Operations across benefits, compliance, and employee relations. The role requires a customer‑service focused, motivated, and self‑driven team player capable of multitasking and shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Employee Relations and Advisement Provide advisement to employees, supervisors and managers on HR‑related topics. Act as mediator to assist with employee issues, conflicts and investigations. Assist with documentation for warnings, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Conduct exit interviews when warranted. Leave Management Administer end‑to‑end leave programs (FMLA, ADA, short/long term disability, and other company policies). Serve as primary point of contact for staff on eligibility, documentation, and return‑to‑work processes. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws; maintain accurate records. Coordinate leave payments and benefits with department leaders and third‑party administrators. Benefits Administration Provide benefit education and support during open enrollment processes. Administer annual benefit renewal with brokers and vendors. Assist with annual independent audits for 5500 filings. Administer wellness committee activities including wellness funds, biometric screening, and flu shot clinic. Assist the onboarding partner with new hire orientations and interviews. Policy Development, Implementation, Enforcement and Training Develop and implement personnel policies with approval from corporate office. Maintain and update employee handbook for compliance. Assist with annual harassment prevention training and other annualized trainings. Ensure labor law compliance postings. Compliance Management Stay updated on employment laws, ensuring adherence to regulations and maintaining records. Employee Communications & Engagement Communicate company policies, updates, and information to employees. Lead employee engagement activities at the facility. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. 5+ years of HR experience, with 3+ years in employee relations and leave management. Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in HRIS platforms (ADP Workforce Now) and data reporting tools. Preferred background in warehouse, industrial, or high‑volume industry. SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred. Strong knowledge of state and federal law; NY state law a plus.
