Job Description

Position: Audiologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are looking for a committed Audiologist to become a part of our team, focusing on conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. In this role, you will assess the Veteran's medical history, which will be securely uploaded into a digital portal, prior to administering both the Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test. Following these assessments, you will fill out a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) within the portal, creating the necessary medical documentation for the VA to evaluate the Veteran’s eligibility for benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
Review and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
Accurately document examination results and complete required VA forms.

Note: This position does not involve prescribing medical treatments or devices. The determination of disability is made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the Audiologist.

Schedule and Caseload:

Part-Time: 3 days per week (Tuesday to Thursday, with 8 or 10-hour shifts).
Average Caseload: 3-6 Veterans per day.
Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools.

Qualifications:

A compassionate Audiologist with a commitment to supporting the Veteran community.
Strong analytical abilities to review medical records and assessment data.
Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based systems.
A professional and empathetic approach when interacting with Veterans.
Doctorate in Audiology from an ASHA Accredited Institution.
Current licensure as an Audiologist.
