About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel for its Equity Sales and Trading division. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice on a wide range of broker-dealer and bank services, with a focus on institutional trading of equity and fixed-income securities, originations of various financial instruments, and the offering of outsourced trading services. This role involves advising on legal, regulatory, and reputational issues, as well as new markets, product development, and strategic business initiatives. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal contracts, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards. Applicants must have a JD, be admitted to the NY Bar, and have a minimum of 10 years' of experience in a law firm or large financial institution, specifically in the area of fixed income and equity sales and trading. A deep understanding of current regulatory issues affecting institutional sales, trading, and capital markets businesses is essential. The role requires the ability to provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced environment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to staying abreast of legal trends in the financial services industry. The Senior Counsel will also be responsible for managing outside counsel and must have a proven track record of working closely with internal clients.
