The Position Wilson Elser's Intellectual Property and Technology Team seeks an Attorney with a strong litigation background to join a fast‑paced and dynamic national team. The role focuses on Intellectual Property and Technology transactional law and litigation; privacy, AI and data governance; internet law; advertising law and other related industry‑specific areas. The opportunity is available at Wilson Elser's Los Angeles or Orange County, CA offices. Key Responsibilities Day‑to‑day management of a litigation caseload and counsel clients in the areas of IP, data privacy technology and AI governance/compliance. Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects. Act as part of a team that prosecutes and defends lawsuits involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and trade libel, data privacy (including online tracking technologies), rights of privacy/rights of publicity. Advise clients on data privacy compliance, AI governance, and data governance matters, including preparation and review of privacy notices, internal privacy and security policies, procedures and controls, third party risk management, risk assessments, and internal training. Advise clients on a wide range of transactional matters including purchase and sale agreements for creative assets, collaboration agreements, software development agreements, licensing agreements, etc. Communicate with clients and provide status reports. Qualifications JD from an accredited law school. Must be admitted to practice in the State of California. 5 - 15 years of experience with intellectual property litigation. Federal/State court litigation experience required with demonstrated experience writing and arguing motions. Experience taking/defending depositions required. Experience with privacy, AI and data governance and/or data privacy litigation is strongly preferred; interest in developing expertise. Experience with advertising law, art law, fashion law, internet law and/or transactional matters is a plus. Demonstrated track record of thought leadership in IP is a strong plus. Excellent analytical, writing, client service, and professional communications skills. Legal project management experience is helpful. Compensation Wilson Elser offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary Range: $180,000 - $210,000 USD. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Why Join Wilson Elser?
