About This Role

Child Development Ministry is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our team!

We are looking for someone who truly loves working with young children and enjoys helping them learn, grow, and become more independent. Our ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, energetic, and able to create a fun and positive classroom environment.

The position:

• Monday–Friday
• 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
• Preschool classroom
• Full-time position
• Must have a genuine love for children
• Must be dependable and able to work well as part of a team

What You'll Do

Preschool Teacher Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for children.
• Plan and provide age-appropriate learning activities and experiences.
• Follow the center’s curriculum and daily classroom schedule.
• Encourage children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Supervise children closely and maintain proper classroom ratios at all times.
• Assist children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, handwashing, and rest time.
• Encourage independence and positive behavior through age-appropriate guidance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom.
• Complete daily classroom cleaning and sanitizing responsibilities.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s day, development, and needs.
• Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones as required.
• Work cooperatively with co-teachers, administration, and other staff members.
• Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
• Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and state licensing requirements.
• Participate in center activities, special events, and family engagement opportunities.
• Be dependable, punctual, and ready to actively engage with children throughout the day.

Requirements

Preschool Teacher Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a genuine love and passion for working with young children .
• Must be dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM .
• Previous experience working with preschool-age children preferred.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or a CDA is a plus.
• Must be able to pass required background checks and meet all state licensing requirements.
• Must communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and coworkers.
• Must be patient, nurturing, energetic, and willing to actively engage with children.
• Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Must follow center policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
• Must maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout the day.
• Must be physically able to safely supervise and care for young children, including lifting and assisting children when needed.
• Must be willing to participate in staff training and professional development.
• Most importantly, you must have a heart for children and a desire to help them learn, grow, and become independent! ❤️

Nice To Haves

Preferred Qualifications – A Plus!

• Previous experience working with preschool-age children.
• Experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
• Associate’s degree in early childhood education, Education, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Education, or a related field.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or additional professional training.
• Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
