Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) needed at South Point—provide skilled rehab care, support residents, and work with an experienced therapy team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists (OT) to create individualized rehabilitation plans aimed at improving residents' functionality and quality of life.

• Implement therapy activities that are designed to meet the unique needs and capabilities of each resident under the guidance and supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).

• Assist residents in performing daily activities , helping them build independence and engage in meaningful tasks to enhance their well-being.

• Monitor residents’ progress during therapy sessions, offering support, motivation, and encouragement to achieve therapy goals.

• Educate residents on the proper use of specialized equipment and assistive devices to promote independence and improve function in daily life.

• Supervise therapy activities to ensure the safety, efficacy, and proper implementation of therapy interventions.

• Maintain accurate records by documenting residents’ progress, treatment sessions, and outcomes in the facility’s rehabilitation software.

• Communicate with OTR/L about residents' progress, concerns, and adjustments needed to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications for COTAs:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.

• Current and valid New York State OTA License.

• Experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting is preferred, but not required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

• A compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy and resident care.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
