Auditor

Auditor Job Duties Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation. Completes audit workpapers by documenting audit tests and findings. Appraises adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires. Maintains internal control systems by updating audit programs and questionnaires. Recommends new policies and procedures to strengthen controls. Prepares final audit reports and discusses findings with auditees. Studies existing and new security legislation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Enforces adherence to legal requirements and advises management on needed actions. Prepares special audit and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating information and trends. Attends educational workshops to maintain professional and technical knowledge. Reviews professional publications to stay current in the field. Establishes personal networks and participates in professional societies.
