This role focuses on working on a fast-paced production line to package food products, prepare them for shipment, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. You will handle physical tasks such as lifting, packing, and palletizing while ensuring products are accurately prepared and staged for delivery to multiple distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

• Work on the production line to package food products accurately and efficiently.
• Place packaged products into totes and prepare them for loading onto trucks.
• Palletize totes securely to ensure safe and stable transport.
• Dispose of cardboard and other packaging materials in a safe and organized manner.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and orderly work area on the production floor.
• Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures while working with food and beverages.
• Use basic math skills to track quantities and ensure correct counts of products and totes.
• Monitor and keep track of inventory as needed, ensuring products are correctly labeled and staged.
• Lift and move items weighing 40 pounds or more throughout the shift.
• Wear required safety gear, including slip-resistant shoes and a high-visibility shirt, to work safely around forklifts and other equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet production goals.
• Use minimal computer systems as needed for basic production or inventory tasks.

Essential Skills

• Experience with packing, production, or packaging in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform picking and packing tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Capability to safely lift 40+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure correct packaging, labeling, and inventory tracking.
• Good organization skills to maintain an orderly work area and manage workflow.
• Basic math skills to count, track, and verify product quantities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting with minimal computer use.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitized production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in food production or beverage packaging environments is beneficial.
• Comfort working around forklifts and other moving equipment in a production facility.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment, including slip-resistant shoes and high-visibility clothing.
• Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.
• Willingness to work flexible end times based on production needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
