Affiliated (Part-Time) Faculty – Cultural Economics Marlboro Institute for Liberal Arts & Interdisciplinary Studies and the Department of Marketing Communication at Emerson College are looking to fill one section of Cultural Economics (EC204) for the Fall 2026 semester (September 2 – December 17, 2026). Course meets twice a week on Monday/Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:45 pm. Cultural Economics (EC204) Instructors will teach an introductory economics course that provides economic thinking for students who have not taken an economics course and examines economic thinking applied to art and cultural goods. The course fulfills the Social and Psychological Perspective area within Emerson’s liberal arts requirements, contributes to the Economics minor, and serves as a requirement for the Business of Creative Enterprises B.A. program. Student Learning Outcomes Compare and contrast individual- and social-level determinants of human behavior using a depth of knowledge regarding theoretical foundations. Explain and apply the empirical evidence underlying the theoretical frameworks in the specific field of study. Consider relationships between theoretical foundations and real-world applications, including applying knowledge of human behavior to understand themselves and others. Qualifications and Expectations Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
