The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.The Underwriter II manages relationships and reviews transactions for key targeted Trade Credit brokers/markets/industries. This is an integral position that provides front facing external/internal marketing responsibilities as well as management of office underwriting duties and initiatives within their portfolio.How you will create an impact:Developing strong relationships with brokers and clients to grow the Underwriter's portfolio of trade credit businessUnderwriting new and renewal insurance submissions and negotiating policy terms and conditionsAnalyzing domestic and international corporate credits, evaluating financial information, and recommending or approving appropriate credit limits and termsProfessionally maintaining and properly servicing an existing portfolio of trade credit insurance businessMarketing, selling and presenting to brokers and insureds to increase submission flowEngaging in various underwriting and marketing projects to improve overall company resultsTraining, mentoring, providing technical direction to fellow Underwriters to contribute to group revenue targets and meeting internal operations/audit directives for the divisionMeeting operating and audit guidelines and goals of senior managementParticipating in and completing special projects as required by the profit centerRegular collaboration with AIG distribution colleagues in identifying and closing trade credit opportunitiesSome travel requiredWhat you'll need to succeed:Qualified candidates should have a background in credit or financial analysis and strong commercial development skills.1 to 4 years of experience in an underwriting capacity is preferred.Experience in trade credit, finance, or banking preferredHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Cap IQ, SalesforceStrong commercial development skillsExcellent organizational and communication skillsBachelor's degree in business or finance required. We would love to hear from you.The base salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
