Human Resources Generalist

Job Purpose: The Talent Success Specialist ensures a consistent, compliant, and employee‑centered experience across all HR functions. The role supports the full employee lifecycle, including benefits administration, leave management (FMLA/ADA), employee relations, and HR compliance. It requires sound judgment, confidentiality, and a solutions‑oriented mindset. Key Responsibilities Benefits Administration : Partner with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve escalated benefits issues, manage renewals, and support Open Enrollment communication and execution. Assist with vendor data feeds and system audits for HRIS, payroll, and benefits platform accuracy. Provide employee support and information about benefits. Process enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and timely. Maintain compliance with ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other regulations. Reconcile monthly benefits invoices, resolve discrepancies, prepare reports, and assist with annual audits and renewals. Support filing and recordkeeping for benefits documentation. Leave Management : Communicate leave decisions clearly to employees and managers, update all parties on status throughout the leave lifecycle. Coordinate with payroll for correct coding of leave and benefit deductions. Work with employees, managers, and healthcare providers to handle leave requests and return‑to‑work processes in a timely, compliant manner. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance. Employee Relations : Handle employee relations issues, guiding employees and managers. Take ownership of cases from start to resolution, ensuring fairness and alignment with company values. Document all ER actions per internal standards. Support HR Manager with disciplinary actions, PIPs, and final written warnings. Develop initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and engagement. Use sound judgment and discretion in sensitive or high‑impact situations. Data Analysis & Reporting : Utilize analytical skills to generate HR reports and insights. Assist with compensation modeling and other HR‑related analyses. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date HR records and documentation. HR Compliance & Policies : Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures. Guide employment law and regulatory compliance for the organization. Ethics & Accountability : Act as a role model for ethical behavior, resolve complex ethical dilemmas, and provide guidance on ethical issues. Customer Focus : Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Anticipate customer needs and offer proactive solutions. Lead initiatives to improve customer service practices. Time Management & Organization : Plan and organize team projects and resources. Anticipate and address potential scheduling challenges. Communication : Communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Manage difficult conversations with tact and diplomacy. Coach others on effective communication techniques. Teamwork : Lead team projects and foster a collaborative environment. Mentor and support team members to enhance performance and manage significant team conflicts effectively. Self‑Motivation : Inspire and motivate others to achieve high performance. Take on challenging projects and drive them to completion. Lead initiatives to improve team or department performance. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (HR‑related field preferred). 3–5+ years of recent HR Generalist experience. Minimum 3 years of experience managing employee relations cases. At least 2 years of experience administering FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs. Experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑state environment with remote or distributed teams. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and identify trends. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and handles sensitive information with professionalism. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated confidence and sound judgment in handling sensitive HR matters. Well‑versed in federal and state employment laws and HR compliance practices. Excellent knowledge of employment and staffing processes. Computer literacy, including effective utilization of Internet-capable applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Paycom HRIS system. Experience with payroll and compensation modeling. Performance Metrics Accuracy and timeliness in benefits administration, leave management, and HR documentation. Effectiveness in resolving employee relations issues while maintaining confidentiality and promoting satisfaction. Quality, accuracy, and insight of HR reporting and data analysis to support informed decision‑making. Compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements. Responsiveness and reliability in supporting internal stakeholders and contributing to a positive employee experience. Proactive ownership of HR processes, demonstrating accountability and continuous improvement.
