Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar size emergency room

License: Required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, COVID Vaccine Required

Must-Have: 2 years of experience in a similar size emergency room

Description:
The unit has a capable maximum of 15 beds.
The average daily census is 57 patients.
The ratio of nurses to patients is 1 to 4, based on acuity.
The charge nurse position is available 24/7.
The charge nurse also performs triage overnight.
A break relief nurse is provided, or the charge nurse will cover break relief.
An emergency room technician is available from 7 PM to 6:30 AM.
Emergency room technicians can perform EKGs, splinting, and casting.
Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.
Holidays will be scheduled according to the permanent staff schedule.
Scrub color is navy blue.
The emergency room sees typical emergency room patients.
This facility is not a trauma center.
It accommodates a lot of walk-in patients.
There are great door-to-balloon times for cardiac cases.
Severely ill pediatric patients are transported to a specialized facility 15 minutes away.
The emergency room serves a high affluent population.
Staff members consistently strive to exceed patient expectations.
A variety of comfort items such as soaps and gently used clothing are available for patients.
Floating to other units is doubtful but may be available for those with ICU, Telemetry, or Med-Surg experience.
Orientation consists of 2 shifts with a preceptor.
The facility has in-house hospitalists and intensivists.
A pharmacy is available on-site until 10 PM, with 24/7 access.
Charting is done using a specified electronic health record system.
First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Up to 4 shifts may be canceled within the 13-week assignment.
Typical emergency room patients are seen, but the facility does not engage in extensive trauma care.
